Kostecki Strikes Back With Christchurch Masterclass
Brodie Kostecki has responded in perfect fashion at the ITM Christchurch Super 440, claiming victory in Race 11 after producing another commanding drive at Ruapuna Raceway and continuing his impressive run during the 2026 Repco Supercars Championship.
After Kai Allen stole the headlines in the opening race of the weekend with his maiden Supercars victory, attention quickly shifted toward whether the championship leader could respond. Kostecki entered the race determined to bounce back and immediately laid down a marker after claiming pole position earlier in the day.

As the lights went out, Kostecki produced a clean start and controlled the run toward Turn One. The Dick Johnson Racing driver immediately settled into rhythm and looked comfortable at the front as the field worked through the opening corners of Ruapuna Raceway.
Behind the leader, the battle for positions quickly intensified. Kai Allen again looked strong after his breakthrough result and immediately placed himself within striking distance of the leading battle. Ryan Wood also continued showing strong speed, while Broc Feeney and Will Brown remained close as the leading group searched for early opportunities.

Through the opening laps, Kostecki consistently managed to create a small but valuable gap. His pace through the faster sections of the circuit proved difficult for rivals to match, and while Allen slowly reduced the margin during parts of the race, the championship leader remained in control.
Pit strategy soon became one of the defining elements of the race. Teams searched for any possible advantage while tyre management began playing an increasingly important role as the race progressed.
Allen emerged as Kostecki’s biggest threat in the closing stages after using a tyre advantage to rapidly close the gap. Lap after lap, the young Grove Racing driver continued reducing the margin and placed enormous pressure on the DJR Mustang ahead.
The final laps saw Allen repeatedly search for opportunities while Kostecki defended calmly under pressure. Despite the challenge, the championship contender never looked unsettled and delivered a composed drive when it mattered most.
Crossing the finish line first, Kostecki secured his fifth victory of the season and delivered another statement performance in the championship battle.
For Kostecki, it represented an important response after Friday’s disappointment. For everyone else, it was another reminder that the championship leader remains the driver to beat in 2026.
