Real-world mentoring, life skills and community participation
built around what works for you.

Motorcycling is one of our anchors, but it’s not required. We use the activity that fits the person and turn it into confidence, routine, responsibility, and real progress.

We support participants through strength-based mentoring, community participation, life skills and employment readiness. Some people thrive with motorcycling — others don’t. We tailor the pathway to the person and use what naturally motivates them to create momentum, confidence and progress.

We work from your “currency” — what naturally engages you. For some people that’s motorcycling. For others it’s music, art, fitness, hands-on projects, or time outdoors. The outcome is the same: growth, capability, and wellbeing.

  • Built around strengths and interests (not deficits).

  • Tailored pacing, clear structure, practical outcomes.

  • Right-to-risk with safeguards and steady progression.

Meet the approach

Choose your pathway

Two pathways. Same outcomes.

Motorcycling pathway (optional)

If bikes are your currency, we can use riding, coaching and skill development as a structured way to build confidence, focus, resilience, and community connection.

· 1:1 coaching, paced to the participant

· Confidence-building through achievable progress

· Safety-first delivery with right-to-risk safeguards

Non-motorcycling pathway

Not into bikes? No problem. We’ll build the same outcomes using the person’s interests — music, art, cooking, fitness, hands-on projects, outdoors, mechanical/trade skills, and more.

· Strength-based mentoring and structured sessions

· Life skills and community participation in real settings

· Routine, responsibility and follow-through

· Employment readiness and practical learning

What we build (real-world outcomes)

· Confidence, self-belief and identity

· Mental fitness, focus and emotional steadiness

· Routine, responsibility and follow-through

· Communication and relationships (family, peers, workplace)

· Community connection and belonging

· Practical life skills (planning, decision-making, independence)

· Employment readiness (skills, habits, confidence, support)

Supports we deliver (NDIS-aligned)

· Mentoring & coaching (in person or remote): regular check-ins, encouragement, planning, practical guidance

· Social & community participation: confidence in real settings, belonging and connection

· Employment support & workplace development: job readiness, workplace coaching, employer support

· Creative & life skills: cooking, art, hands-on projects for independence and confidence

· Motorcycling programs (optional): structured coaching and progression for participants who choose this pathway

Safety-first, person-led, and respectful

We create a safe, encouraging space to learn by doing. We meet people where they are, build from there, and use right-to-risk principles with safeguards around challenge and growth. Most supports are delivered 1:1 so sessions can be paced to the individual.

How it works

1. Enquire (participant, family, support coordinator or plan manager).

2. Short consult: goals, strengths (“currency”), support needs, safety, what success looks like.

3. Service agreement: scope, schedule, rates, invoicing.

4. Begin supports (motorcycling optional), track outcomes, adjust as confidence grows.

How funding works (NDIS vs activity costs)

Many participants use NDIS funding for the support component (our time supporting participation) when it aligns with their goals. Provider travel may also be claimable where applicable and agreed.

General activity costs are often separate. These are day-to-day expenses that everyone pays, such as venue fees, equipment hire, memberships, licences and permits. If a plan includes a specific budget for community and social activity costs, eligible activity costs may be claimable by agreement — otherwise they’re usually participant-paid.

For Support Coordinators & Plan Managers

· Strength-based approach with measurable, real-life outcomes

· Supports suited to capacity building: community participation, daily living skills, employment readiness and relationships

· Clear service agreements and transparent invoicing

· Safety-first delivery and person-led progression

· Communication with families/support teams where requested

Let’s choose the right pathway.

  • No. Bikes are optional. We start with the person’s currency and build outcomes either way.

  • Participants, families, support coordinators and plan managers can all enquire.

  • Commonly yes, so the participant receives focused attention and sessions can be paced safely.

  • Often the support component can be funded when aligned to goals. Activity costs are commonly separate unless specifically budgeted and agreed.

  • That’s normal. We start small, build trust, and progress only when the participant is ready.

Elliot's Story: A Journey of Transformation

Words can only say so much. To truly understand the impact our NDIS programs can have, we invite you to watch the story of Elliot.

Elliot began working with Positive Throttle through his NDIS plan, looking for an activity that would challenge and engage him. Through dedicated coaching and his own incredible determination, he has not only mastered the art of riding but has also experienced a profound and positive transformation in his daily life.

The Life-Changing Benefits of Motorcycle Riding

Motorcycle riding is more than just a recreational activity; it's a form of active therapy that can lead to significant improvements in many areas of life. The focus and discipline required to control a motorcycle can help build skills that extend far beyond the track.

Key benefits for NDIS participants can include:

  • Improved Focus and Concentration: Riding demands complete presence and attention, helping to sharpen mental focus and mindfulness.

  • Increased Confidence and Self-Esteem: Mastering a new and challenging skill like motorcycle control provides a powerful sense of accomplishment and self-belief.

  • Enhanced Motor Skills and Coordination: The complex inputs required for steering, throttle, and braking help to refine balance, coordination, and physical dexterity.

  • Greater Social and Community Engagement: Joining our ride days provides an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals in a shared passion, fostering a sense of belonging and community.

  • Building Resilience and Problem-Solving Skills: Learning to handle a bike in a controlled environment teaches participants how to assess situations, manage challenges, and stay calm under pressure.
