Following his opening race victory, all attention shifted toward whether Kostecki could maintain his momentum against an increasingly determined field. The Albert Park circuit once again produced its trademark intensity as drivers fought aggressively for position across the opening laps, knowing overtaking opportunities can quickly disappear around the fast-flowing temporary layout.

When the race began, Kostecki immediately found himself under pressure heading into Turn One. Matt Payne produced an excellent launch and remained close through the opening corners, while Broc Feeney also positioned himself within striking distance. Behind the leading group, drivers battled fiercely through the midfield, creating several close moments as cars ran side by side through the opening sector.

The race quickly developed into one of the most dramatic contests of the season so far. Contact further down the field triggered an early safety car intervention, compressing the field and eliminating the advantage Kostecki had started to build. Teams immediately began reassessing strategy as the restart created new opportunities for drivers searching for positions.

Once racing resumed, Kostecki again showed why he has been one of the standout performers throughout the weekend. The DJR driver produced a clean restart and immediately began creating a small gap over the chasing pack. Payne remained the closest challenger and consistently delivered competitive lap times, while Feeney stayed within reach as the leading battle intensified.

One of the biggest stories of the race emerged further behind, with breakthrough performances throughout the field creating excitement across pit lane. Drivers continued pushing hard around the unforgiving Albert Park circuit, knowing that one small mistake could quickly end their race.

Despite the increasing pressure and multiple interruptions, Kostecki remained calm and composed throughout the closing laps. His consistency, tyre management and ability to deliver fast lap times at crucial moments allowed him to secure another important victory.

After two wins from two races, Kostecki has not only strengthened his championship campaign but also delivered a clear message to the rest of the field stopping his momentum may prove far easier said than done.
