Triple Eight and SCT Motorsport Forge New Alliance Ahead of 2026

In a significant shake-up of the Supercars grid, Triple Eight Race Engineering will expand to a three-car operation in 2026 through a partnership with SCT Motorsport, signalling a major strategic move in the lead-up to next season.

A Strategic Shift

Under the new two-year deal, Triple Eight will build, manage and campaign an SCT-branded Ford Mustang from 2026 through 2027, moving SCT’s operations away from Brad Jones Racing, where it has run since 2020. The agreement marks a return for Triple Eight to three full-time entries — the last time they fielded that number was in 2018.

The Players and Ambitions

SCT Logistics, the parent company behind the motorsport programme, has been involved in Supercars since 2013 and holds a racing entitlement contract (REC) since 2020. They describe the partnership with Triple Eight as a key opportunity to align their national logistics business with high-performance motorsport exposure and to push toward race wins, Bathurst success and championship contention. Meanwhile, Triple Eight’s Managing Director emphasised the team’s commitment to excellence and stated that SCT’s willingness to invest and perform made the agreement a natural fit.

Implications for the Grid

The expansion carries broader consequences for the 2026 grid. With Triple Eight’s three-car deployment adding depth to Ford’s presence, it will intensify competition among manufacturers, teams and driver line-ups. The move also deprives Brad Jones Racing of the SCT banner, prompting questions about their strategic direction and manufacturer alignment moving forward. Driver announcements for the new entry have yet to be made.

Outlook for 2026

The timing of the announcement gives both parties ample runway to integrate operations, develop the vehicle and structure the team around a competitive campaign. For Triple Eight, it represents a confident return to higher volume operations and a statement of future ambition. For SCT Motorsport, it offers a platform with proven infrastructure and pedigree. If successful, the partnership could alter the balance of power in the championship.

As the ‘silly season’ churns on and teams reposition for the future, this alliance stands out as one of the most significant moves in the current cycle. With three cars on the grid under one of the sport’s top teams and a track record of excellence behind them, the new combination is poised to make waves in the coming seasons.
