After entering the weekend with confidence and momentum, the Dick Johnson Racing driver immediately established himself as the pace setter around the Melbourne circuit. Strong qualifying performances, race victories and consistent speed across every session allowed Kostecki to place himself firmly in control as rivals struggled to match his pace over the four-race format.

Albert Park once again delivered its usual mix of excitement and unpredictability across the weekend. Fans packed around the circuit witnessed intense wheel-to-wheel battles, dramatic overtakes, safety car interruptions and major incidents as Supercars provided plenty of entertainment alongside the Australian Grand Prix event.

Despite the chaos unfolding around him, Kostecki consistently remained focused and avoided the mistakes that affected several championship rivals. His racecraft throughout the weekend proved exceptional, with the DJR driver demonstrating patience when required and aggression when opportunities presented themselves.

The Larry Perkins Trophy remains one of the most respected prizes available during the Melbourne event and recognises the driver who performs most consistently across the weekend's races. Named after Supercars legend Larry Perkins, the award carries significant meaning within Australian motorsport and has previously been won by some of the sport's biggest names.

For Kostecki, winning the trophy represents not only a reward for speed but also recognition of the complete package delivered by both driver and team throughout the event.

During the final race of the weekend, Kostecki once again looked comfortable under pressure. While battles continued throughout the field and several drivers fought hard to recover positions, the Shell V-Power Mustang remained among the quickest cars on track.

Speaking after the event, Kostecki praised the efforts of the Dick Johnson Racing crew and acknowledged the importance of building momentum early in the season.

Leaving Melbourne with multiple victories, valuable championship points and the Larry Perkins Trophy, Kostecki has delivered a major statement to the rest of the field. If the Melbourne SuperSprint is any indication of what is to come, the championship fight may have just found its leading contender.
