Brad Jones Racing Joins Toyota for 2026 Supercars Campaign with GR Supra Line-Up

Brad Jones Racing (BJR) has officially joined forces with Toyota Australia to become the second team to field the new GR Supra Supercars in the Repco Supercars Championship starting in 2026. The multi-year agreement solidifies Toyota’s commitment to Australia’s premier motorsport category, following its announcement of entry into the championship last September.

This landmark partnership will see four BJR V8-powered GR Supra Supercars line up on the grid alongside the two entries from homologation team Walkinshaw Andretti United (WAU). Together, they will make up a six-car contingent for Toyota, going head-to-head with Ford’s ten cars and Chevrolet’s eight.

Sean Hanley, Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Franchise Operations at Toyota Australia, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership. “We are incredibly excited to announce our new and exciting partnership with Brad Jones Racing, which has been a dedicated part of the Supercars scene for the last quarter of a century,” Hanley said.

Hanley was particularly impressed by BJR’s longstanding commitment to nurturing racing talent and aligning with the Toyota GAZOO Racing philosophy. “It was a huge moment when Toyota Australia announced it would be joining the country’s premier motorsport category last September, and today’s news solidifies our line-up and racing team partners,” he added.

BJR team owner Brad Jones described the agreement as a pivotal moment in the history of the team, which has been competing in Supercars since 2000. “This is a massive moment in the history of BJR. I am very excited for what the future holds and to work closely with Toyota,” Jones said.

Jones also highlighted the thorough process that led to the team’s decision to switch manufacturers, noting that Toyota’s collaborative approach and commitment to success were major factors in the decision. “This type of upheaval is not a light decision to make, but I’ve been reassured time and time again that this is the right direction for BJR,” he said.

WAU Director Ryan Walkinshaw welcomed BJR to the Toyota fold, emphasizing the excitement of seeing six GR Supras competing from 2026 onwards. “On behalf of Walkinshaw Andretti United, we are all really pleased to see Brad Jones Racing selected to represent the GR Supra on the Supercars Championship grid from 2026 and look forward to working with the team closely,” Walkinshaw said.

The first round of the 2026 Supercars Championship promises to be a thrilling “pinch me” moment for BJR and fans alike, as Toyota’s six-car line-up makes its much-anticipated debut.
