Marc Marquez completed a perfect weekend at MotorLand Aragon with a hard-fought Grand Prix victory, holding off Pedro Acosta and Marco Bezzecchi to strengthen his challenge for the 2026 MotoGP championship.

The Ducati Lenovo rider entered Sunday determined to respond after a difficult British Grand Prix. Having already won Saturday’s Sprint, Marquez added another 25 points with an impressive ride that moved him into second in the standings, only 19 points behind championship leader Jorge Martin.

Marquez initially attacked at Turn 1 but accidentally left his rear ride-height device engaged, allowing Bezzecchi to regain the lead. Martin also forced his way past the Ducati, briefly creating an Aprilia one two at the front ahead of Marquez and Acosta.

The order quickly changed before the end of the opening lap. Marquez fought back past Martin, while Acosta and Alex Marquez also moved ahead of the championship leader. Bezzecchi established a small advantage, but Marquez and Acosta steadily closed the gap.

Marquez made his decisive move on Lap 6, attacking Bezzecchi at Turn 15. The pair ran side by side along the back straight at more than 300km/h before Marquez secured the position through the final corners. Acosta then swept around the outside of Bezzecchi to take second and immediately began pressuring the race leader.

For several laps, Acosta remained locked onto the rear of Marquez’s Ducati. The leading trio traded rapid lap times, with less than one second separating Marquez, Acosta and Bezzecchi at half-race distance. However, Marquez eventually increased his pace, set new lap records and created enough breathing room to control the closing stages.

The 93 crossed the line to complete a maximum 37 point weekend, while Acosta produced an excellent recovery from his disappointing Sprint to finish second. Bezzecchi completed the podium and reduced his championship deficit after finishing ahead of Martin in both races.

Alex Marquez claimed fourth, while Martin could manage only fifth. Fermin Aldeguer finished sixth on his return, ahead of Fabio Di Giannantonio. Enea Bastianini passed Diogo Moreira on the final lap for eighth, while Brad Binder narrowly defeated Jack Miller for the final top-ten position.

Raul Fernandez retired after initially challenging Martin, while Francesco Bagnaia crashed early. Marquez’s Aragon double has transformed the title picture, with momentum firmly on his side as MotoGP heads to Misano for the next round. The championship battle is closer, with every point becoming increasingly important in the remaining rounds.
