Bezzecchi Leads Historic Aprilia 1–2 as Brazil Delivers More MotoGP Drama

MotoGP’s return to Brazil produced another landmark moment as Marco Bezzecchi extended his extraordinary run of form and delivered Aprilia one of the biggest results in the manufacturer’s premier-class history.

After recovering from disappointment in Thailand and arriving in Brazil with momentum, Bezzecchi once again proved unstoppable taking victory and leading home teammate Jorge Martin to secure Aprilia’s first-ever MotoGP 1–2 finish.

From lights out, the race immediately looked different to Saturday’s Sprint.

Bezzecchi launched perfectly and converted his front-row position into control of the opening laps, while Fabio Di Giannantonio slotted into second and Marc Marquez settled into third. Behind them, Pedro Acosta made immediate progress and looked ready to become part of the podium fight.

At the front, however, Bezzecchi had no intention of waiting.

The Italian quickly established rhythm and began stretching the advantage lap after lap, forcing those behind into battle rather than allowing anyone to attack for victory.

The key moment came early.

Di Giannantonio launched an aggressive move on Marc Marquez and forced both riders wide through the corner exit. Jorge Martin reacted instantly, sweeping past both and moving into second place.

That move changed the race.

Martin settled into clear air and began reducing the gap to Bezzecchi, but not enough to threaten the leader. Instead, attention shifted to another chapter in the growing Di Giannantonio versus Marquez rivalry.

After losing out to Marc in Saturday’s Sprint, the VR46 rider was determined to respond.

The reigning World Champion initially reclaimed third with a forceful move late in the race, but the advantage didn’t last. One lap later, Marquez ran wide and Di Giannantonio immediately punished the mistake to take the position back.

This time there was no response.

While the battle behind intensified, Bezzecchi remained untouchable.

Crossing the finish line comfortably ahead of the field, the Aprilia rider secured a fourth consecutive Grand Prix victory and moved into the championship lead for the first time in 2026.

Martin’s second place completed a historic afternoon for Aprilia, while Di Giannantonio secured his first Sunday podium of the year after defeating the reigning champion in a battle that is quickly becoming one of the stories of the season.

Brazil delivered the atmosphere. Aprilia delivered history.
