Razgatlioglu Seals WorldSBK Title After Dramatic Season Finale
The 2025 WorldSBK season concluded in dramatic fashion as Toprak Razgatlıoğlu secured the World Championship title following a tense and emotional final day of racing. Despite a costly crash earlier in the day, the Turkish star did enough in Race 2 to confirm his championship triumph, delivering back-to-back titles for the ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team and capping off a season defined by resilience and consistency.

Razgatlioglu’s title confirmation was far from straightforward. A non-score in the Superpole Race, following a dramatic crash at Turn 5, forced him to start Race 2 from tenth on the grid. With the championship still mathematically alive, the pressure was immense, but the BMW rider approached the race with calm precision rather than desperation.
From the opening lap, Razgatlioglu made steady progress, climbing to eighth immediately and breaking into the top six on the following lap. Rather than forcing risky overtakes, he opted for a patient approach, picking off rivals one by one. Alex Lowes was dispatched first, followed by Xavi Vierge and Andrea Locatelli, before Razgatlioglu settled into a controlled podium position more than enough to seal the title by a 13-point margin.

At the front of the field, Álvaro Bautista made an immediate impact in his final race for Aruba.it Racing – Ducati. The double world champion attacked from the start, briefly leading before teammate Nicolò Bulega took control of the race. Bulega went on to secure victory, completing a hat-trick of wins that ensured Ducati claimed the Manufacturers’ Championship.
Behind the podium fight, Locatelli edged Vierge in a thrilling last lap battle for fourth, while Lowes fended off pressure from Andrea Iannone after the Italian rider ran wide at Turn 1. Tarran Mackenzie rounded out a strong weekend with eighth place, marking his best WorldSBK event to date.
Razgatlioglu’s third-place finish and championship crown marked a fitting end to his final season with BMW. Having improved race by race after a challenging start to the year, he leaves the team as a world champion once more and with momentum firmly behind him as he prepares for his next career chapter.
