Chaz Mostert and Fabian Coulthard conquered conditions at The Bend to claim a dominant victory in the 2026 AirTouch 500 and deliver Toyota a memorable endurance debut.

Starting 11th, the Walkinshaw TWG Racing pairing avoided the drama during a chaotic opening half before taking control as the circuit dried. Mostert crossed the line 18 seconds clear to secure his first victory in a 500-kilometre Supercars race.

It marked Coulthard’s first Supercars win since 2020, also at the same circuit. Teammates Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans completed Toyota’s debut by charging from 14th to third.

Erebus Motorsport controlled the wet running before attempting an early switch to slick tyres. Lochie Dalton changed to dry rubber when handing the #99 Camaro to Cooper Murray on Lap 75, encouraging race leader Jarrod Hughes to follow during his handover to Jobe Stewart.

However, the gamble came slightly too early as the damp circuit remained difficult. Kai Allen, strong in the wet, began losing ground as Mostert moved into the lead and Evans climbed into second.

Evans handed the #2 Toyota to Wood on Lap 84 and was the first contender to change onto dry tyres. Wood’s warm rubber brought him onto Mostert’s rear bumper after the #1 Toyota switched to Soft tyres on Lap 92.

Despite struggling for grip, Mostert defended the lead before building a comfortable margin ahead of the final pit-stop cycle. Wood stopped on Lap 113, while Allen remained out until Lap 126 and regained second through a shorter fuel fill.

Mostert made his final stop on Lap 131 with just over 12 minutes remaining. He rejoined with a 16-second advantage over Allen, who held a seven-second margin over Wood.

The closing stages featured a fierce battle behind the podium. Matt Payne attacked Jayden Ojeda at Turn 3 during the final 10 minutes, making contact and allowing Will Brown to follow through.

Officials handed Payne a five-second penalty, dropping him and co-driver Will Davison to sixth. Brown and Scott Pye were promoted to fourth after recovering from losing a lap following an opening-lap incident, while Ojeda and David Russell finished fifth.

Allen and Tim Slade secured second ahead of Wood and Evans, completing a Toyota one-three result. Mostert and Coulthard remained untouchable, delivering a fairytale first endurance victory for the manufacturer.

Payne remained championship leader, holding a 120-point advantage over Broc Feeney as Supercars turned its attention towards the Bathurst 1000.
