Bezzecchi Delivers Dream Victory as Aprilia Rules Mugello

Few victories mean more than winning at home, and for Marco Bezzecchi, Mugello provided the perfect stage to produce one of the defining moments of his MotoGP career.

In front of a record-breaking Italian crowd, the championship leader combined speed, composure and perfect race management to secure a memorable victory and lead Aprilia to an unforgettable one-two finish at their home Grand Prix.

The opening laps belonged to Francesco Bagnaia.

The Ducati rider wasted little time recovering from third on the grid, first moving past Jorge Martin before attacking Bezzecchi into San Donato to seize the race lead. The home crowd sensed another classic Mugello battle as the two Italians quickly broke clear of the chasing pack.

Behind them, Martin settled into third while Pedro Acosta, Marc Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer became locked in a fierce contest for the positions just outside the podium.

Although Bagnaia controlled the early stages, Bezzecchi remained patient.

Rather than forcing an early attack, the Aprilia rider stayed within striking distance, carefully preserving his tyres while waiting for the decisive moment.

That moment arrived with ten laps remaining.

Launching a clean move into Turn 1, Bezzecchi reclaimed the lead and immediately demonstrated superior pace. Within a lap, the gap had grown significantly, leaving Bagnaia unable to respond.

The battle then shifted behind him.

Martin closed rapidly on the Ducati and soon completed an overtake for second place, giving Aprilia complete control of the race as the factory teammates pulled away from the rest of the field.

Further back, the fight for the final podium intensified.

Ai Ogura continued another remarkable comeback, charging through the field and closing rapidly on Bagnaia in the closing laps. Every corner reduced the gap, and by the final turn the Japanese rookie was alongside the Ducati.

It all came down to the drag race to the finish.

Bagnaia refused to surrender.

Using superior drive out of the final corner, the Italian edged ahead by just hundredths of a second to secure third place after one of the closest finishes of the season.

At the front, however, there was never any doubt.

Bezzecchi crossed the line to claim a dream victory on home soil, strengthening his championship advantage while giving Aprilia a historic one-two finish in front of its passionate Italian supporters.

For Bezzecchi, it was another statement victory.

For Aprilia, it was the perfect homecoming.

And for Mugello, it was a race the fans will remember for years.
